The photos above show the design of the first prototype. This design was easy to build, and actually worked quite well, but it is noisy and more subject to wear than the new design. The band of aluminum on the boom protects the wood from wear from the moving parts. The four photos above show my original mounting scheme for my paddling fixture on a Scrambler XT. My new design is not only easier to install on a stock kayak, but it is far more adjustable.
